Turkish products signed for TANAP

The use of domestic materials has always been a hot topic in billion-dollar projects in Turkey. While Turkish products are used in projects undertaken by Turkish construction companies, especially in Europe and the Middle East, the predominance of foreign materials in Turkey leads to discussion of the issue. However, the use of Turkish goods has also increased recently. For example, in the TANAP Project, which was opened last week... As you may remember, the TANAP Project, which has a total length of 1,850 kilometers and most of which passes through Turkey, will carry Azerbaijani natural gas to Europe. Turkish company URTİM supplies the formwork and scaffolding systems of the project, which was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the leaders of Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Serbia and TRNC.

'Such projects give us confidence'

TANAP, which is a strategic project that will also direct regional energy policies, starts from Türkgözü Village in Posof District of Ardahan, located on the Turkey-Georgia border, passes through 20 provinces and 67 districts, and after 1,850 kilometers, it reaches Edirne's İpsala District. It ends. From this point on, natural gas will be transferred to European countries. According to the information provided by URTİM Chairman of the Board of Directors Serdar Urfalılar, 13 thousand people were employed in the project, while 80 percent of the pipes used in its construction were produced by 6 different companies in Turkey. For the project, 82 million hours of work were carried out, 175 million kilometers were covered, and 131 thousand 13 meters of pipe was welded. Serdar Urfalılar said, "Our systems were used in the cities of Ardahan, Kırşehir, Eskişehir, Edirne and Kırklareli in Turkey, as well as in Georgia and Baku, Azerbaijan. Being in this project gives confidence to Turkish manufacturers."
